Cash - 100%.

Seriously...I don't even have a demat account right now...:D.

Last week, I had given an application to close my Indiabulls account...am waiting for it to be closed.

I have also applied for a new account with Kotak Securities.

Once that is fully functional, I will rebuild my portfolio from scratch.

Throw some light on your old investment decisions and the aftermath of it.

Would be a great lesson for all.

waiting for updates

nothing as of yet.

waiting for the IPO's.
Alchemist-ji,
Since the recent IPOs have turned out to be duds, we are hoping you turn your attention on building your portfolios and giving us a running commentary of your actions.

No pressure of course, but regular updates will be much appreciated.

Regards,
Sudhanshu

I too am curious as to why and how you ended up with Kotak :hmmmm2:. I think that they are also strict with respect to penny stocks and illiquid stocks. You had a similar experience with IndiaBulls.

in my own account, I have hardly made anything.

whatever I make from investing in stocks, I lose in trying to trade...:D.

I also manage my dad's and brother's accounts.

I don't trade in these accounts and unless, I am sure of the long-term prospects of a stock, I don't buy a stock in their account.

Those two accounts have seen a decent appreciation in last few years and have hardly seen any losses.

e.g. I had bought a few stocks in the 2008 meltdown in my brother's account and most of them did give a decent return.

I lost around Rs 10000 in brother's account because of that stupid Indiabulls Power IPO, but fortunately the very next IPO - Cox and Kings helped me cover all loses and I booked a profit of around Rs 15000.

============================

That's why I always tell everyone not to try and trade in stocks.

investing is boring and needs patience, but is much more rewarding in the long-term.

every time, I lose big money in day trading or short-term trading, I tell myself that I will no longer trade and stick to investing, but till now, I haven't done so.....;)
