Hi Sameer,

I don't know how good you are in Excel. Sorry if I said very basic info.

Open the Excel.

Put the original data in Sheet1 & the data to be compared in Sheet2.

Go to sheet3.

Tools -> Macro -> Visual Basic Editor

Search for the "View Code" button and click that icon.

Copy paste the code from the link given by vasa1.

Remove the below line from that code

This example macro shows how to use the macro above:
Also I suppose you want to compare the sheets from the same file. Hence comment the below line in the code (i.e. put ' symbol in front of it).

Original
' compare two different worksheets in two different workbooks
CompareWorksheets ActiveWorkbook.Worksheets("Sheet1"), _
Workbooks("WorkBookName.xls").Worksheets("Sheet2")
After
' compare two different worksheets in two different workbooks
'[SYMBOL HERE]CompareWorksheets ActiveWorkbook.Worksheets("Sheet1"), _
Workbooks("WorkBookName.xls").Worksheets("Sheet2")
Now press the "Run Sub/userform" button. You will find the difference in the Sheet3. The difference is shown at cell level (i.e. if there is a difference at row 10 & column 5, the difference is written at E10).

Try it out & if there is any problem revert back.

Cheers!!

Hi Paran ,

I have a list of stocks in portfolio of moneycontrol.com, is it possible to download/export them into an excel sheet so that they are available offline for review. What I sometimes do is copy and paste in excel sheet, but that needs a lot of editing to be done on the excel sheet. If you have a solution please let me know.

The facility to export as an Excel file is there in the moneycontrol.com portfolio section.

You know Google sheets today is way more popular than usual desktop version of Excel. So basically anything I am doing now I am doing in them and totally free without a need to pay anything for Excel or so. It's so improved over the years.

Out of curiousity, are you using that VBA in something other than that Excel sheets or so ? I simply do not see how it can really helps somewhere else, but I do remember learning Visual Basic like 20 years ago or so . Thanks for reminding;)
