Login Issue

#1
Lately I noticed that even after successfully logging in I still don't myself as logged in (where it says Welcome, spacenoxx, You last visited).

Because of the above issue I cannot immediately get the New Posts/Members List links. I have to scroll down to see the "logged in" users and click on myself to go to my profile page. Once there everything works as expected and I see the Welcome message on top.

What's causing this? Am I the only one facing this problem?

No. It doesn't help. I tried it first.

Also it's not that it doesn't remember me. It does cause it says down below that I am one of the logged in users and yet continues to show me the username and password box.

There is some issue with Internet Explorer 8.

I also faced log-in problem in IE8.

Also I observed one thing, "www.e-investing.in" works faster / better on Firefox than IE.

Looks like you are right. FF didn't even need my credentials as it had them stored and logged in right away. Could be an IE8 issue.

Thanks for clearing it up.

I have seen this problem with IE. Go to register then it'll remember you :D.

You mean the register page?
Not the register page.

When I open the site in IE, it'll show me the guest page (or the login page) and when I login it'll still show the same page. When I click on the register, it says you are already registered and then I can browse the threads / do anything I usually do.

What I do by going to my profile page essentially does the same thing. Probably a bug in IE. By clicking on any valid links the "cookie" kicks in I guess :),

I have permanently redirected the non-www version to www version.

I think there will be no login problems for users from now on.
