MCX IPO - Multi Commodity Exchange of India

#41
I believe this is one of the unique opportunities one has every once a year. Won't be surprised if it doubles or even triples assuming:

1) MCX remains the top commodity exchange.

2) Indian markets mimic first world markets eventually with commodity turnovers much more than Equity.

3) MCX is quickly able to launch MCX SX, the Stock Exchange for Equity which is planned, which will compete with NSE.

With all these factors believe it is a long term hold. Of course will try and book profits and then re enter when possible but I expect a big pop on Day 1.

It seems almost all of the employees applied for this IPO.
All the employees applied or forced to apply?

I am not sure but it might be possible that it is mandatory for all employees to apply, instructed by MCX?

Most probable it's not correct but is there any such case before or so?

I don't see any reason why MCX would have forced its employees.

It was a "once in a lifetime" opportunity for the employees and I am sure the emloyees of MCX are smart enough to have recognized that.

The employees will be making Rs 60000 profit from every full application that they submitted as they will be getting 100% allotment.

All employees have not subscribed, there are a little more than 500,000 shares which will be moved to the retail category. :bird:.
That figure is incorrect.

Employee quota of MCX was under subscribed and a little over 5,00,000 shares would go to retail investors.
Low allotment to retail sector dampener for MCX IPO - The Smart Investor

There were only 250,000 shares reserved for the employees.

http://www.nseindia.com/content/ipo/ipo_current_mcx.htm

The figure given in the RHP is also 250,000.

MCX IPO Employee quota

Out of 250000 only 44034 were bid for from the NSE link below.

Is it that the employees themselves are not confident about this IPO although they were in a position to make a decent listing gain?

To which category will the remaining shares be moved or will it be withdrawn?

MCX doesn't have enough employees to absorb 250,000 shares.

See post #36.

The company can distribute the remaining shares in any way that it wants to.

From the RHP:

Under-subscription, if any, in any category, other than QIB Portion, would be met with spill-over from other categories at the sole discretion of our Company and the Selling Shareholders, in consultation with the BRLMs. Under subscription, if any, in the Employee Reservation Portion will be added back to the Net Offer.

All buyers in the grey market, unofficial premium quoted at Rs. 500, don't sell any of your MCX shares, potential to cross 2000/- few days after listing. Hold MCX.

when is the allotment ?

Do anybody know when allotment will be done?

I heard that the allotment will be on 5th and refund on 6th March, but still I did not get any email regarding allotment or refund.

If anyone has any idea then please let me know.

Thanks

ASBA amount already being released in some banks, so maybe tomorrow you can see the shares in your demat. I applied through ICICI Direct, amount yet to be released in it, process will be completed maximum 2 days, shares may be listed on Monday. there will be a price discovery period, after that a 20% circuit breaker is applicable on the discovered price, Wish you all the very best.

P.S. 8 shares have been allotted for full application.

Since you are optimistic on this.:D After price discovery, you think there would be circuit on upside?

If market condition is ok then it might open around IPO price. I don't think there is major rally on day 1.

Happy Investing.
