sachinjee, do you think the correction is temp... halted and correction will resume after some time?

Can one take positions here for a week or 10 days time?

Also there is a say that SELL IN MAY GO AWAY :).
The correction has halted for now, but if 10000-10050 breaks, the market will start falling again.

You can trade in individual stocks, but use stop-loss. Any worsening of the trade war between US and its trading partners can lead to a significant market correction from current levels.

sachinjee please upload the midcap technicals chart, I think nifty is dressed up to show market is not falling, but the severe damage is in midcaps

I have big exposure to midcaps with the current capital [i have reduced my capital significantly after LTCG :mad:] and i am not active in the market CURRENTLY

and not following regularly the updates. currently in losses..
IS IT GOOD TO BOOK WHAT EVER LOSSES I HAVE [ ABOUT 20% OF PF :stupido:] SINCE STILL 10 MONTHS LEFT IN THIS FY. [leave today fight tomorrow:ridinghorse:]

Midcaps, by nature, are more volatile than large caps.

Midcaps fall more than large caps during corrections.

Nifty hasn't corrected much because it's valuations are much more reasonable compared to midcaps indices. FMCG and other consumer stocks, IT stocks and private bank stocks are providing good support to Nifty.

Both, the US economy and the US stock market are showing exceptional strength and that factor is keeping world stock markets afloat. As long as Dow stays above 23500, I don't see any reason why investors should worry.

There are 1000s of midcap stocks and it won't be fair to give a blanket sell or buy call for the entire midcap universe. If you had purchased these stocks just for trading, keep stop-losses and exit if these stop-losses are hit.

Alchemist, please share your thoughts on Nifty when you get chance.
Can the current support hold ? or fundamentals look too weak and uncertainty prevails.

I don't have the Nifty chart right now.

The Nifty is showing exceptional weakness and even if the slide halts at any support for now, further downside looks likely.

I think we are witnessing the first stage of a bear market now.

Fundamentals don't look good at all.

In my opinion, the strong US economy and abnormal liquidity conditions in the west are the only supports that are keeping the global markets afloat.
