Trading In Stock Market With Self-discipline

#1
Trading or investing with discipline is half of the job. It doesn’t matter how good your trading system is. If you don’t have the discipline to follow the system, it is difficult to meet your targets. I don’t care how great your plans are, without discipline your plans will fail to pay off.

Discipline entails self-control, and self-control entails your self-esteem or ego. If you want to do well, don’t involve your ego with trading. When self-image gets jumbled up with your trading activities, it not only destroys your best trading or investing purposes, but it also spoils your self-esteem.

guys want to know your thoughts and views on investing with self-discipline.

Thanks :)

Frankly speaking I dont think self descipline is directly related to making profit in stock market. If you are investing in Mutual Funds then yes, it may be. But stocks are too volatile and you should be volatile enough to change your decisions based on your knowledge to make good profits - which is a skill called timing the market. Discipline will not enable you to time the market.

Saurabh,

there are lots of different types of trading. call it intraday, swing, investing whatever you like. but there is no way you can be successful without discipline.

as you have mentioned in your post, we change our decisions based on our knowledge, and if we are doing it without any king of greed or emotions than it is discipline. you have presented a very nice example of discipline in this post.
