I feel the outcome is unlikely to affect the market in medium or long-term.

BJP is expected to win the election as INC is very weak in Gujarat. If BJP wins, markets won't react.

Even if BJP loses, market will try to find something positive in it. That is how bull markets behave.

Maybe the market consider it as a signal to the central government to speed up reforms and accelerate the economy.

Finger crossed...

Honestly I do not believe that BJP will come, considering Patels*, Demon, GST, 20+ years of anti incumbency, Let's teach them a lesson this time at-least once - attitude of people....

But still lion is only one in Jungle!!; let us see...

I hope you are feeling better now. :D.

Overall, I think the results are not as bad as they appear for BJP.

They have got less seats than 2012, but their vote share is up slightly.

BJP is the clear king in urban Gujarat, but rural and small town voters have voted more for INC. If similar voting pattern is seen in 2019 general elections, it will be very difficult for BJP to come back to power.

My personal view, ballot paper must come back at least for center elections or state elections. At least any one elections ballot paper must be used.

To the best of my knowledge when NDA was in opposition they also expressed doubt on EVM.

Anyway bought truckloads of shares at 9:15 am and sold everything at 3 pm except one big PSU bank share.

Yes, that's true.

They opposed Aadhaar too and even called it "fraud".

Now that BJP is in power, according to them, everyone without an Aadhaar is fraud.

Short of naming Nilekani, Meenakshi also questioned the expenditure incurred on Aadhaar. "A thorough CBI probe is needed on the money spent and why Aadhaar was made mandatory," she said.

I had bought some shares too but sold too early, when for a few minutes, INC had more leads than BJP. :banghead:

A few words used in that article by BJP/NDA.

AADHAR is a dangerous programme to regularize the illegal stay of migrants.

All the peoples data stored outside the country.

Have they corrected their concerns by stopping migrants and bringing back data to store in India?

They also strongly opposed the petrol price hike when international crude oil is in full upswing. We all know what they did after they came into power.
